Fisher House
Foundation
The Fisher House Foundation provides America’s servicemen and women, veterans and their families with a place to stay while a loved one is receiving care at any of the military’s major medical centers and at several VA medical centers. The homes are built by the Foundation and given as a gift to the Army, Navy, Air Force and Department of Veterans Affairs, who then operate and maintain them. This growing network of 76 “comfort homes” has served more than 335,000 families, saving them over $407 million in lodging costs since the program began in 1990. Additionally, the Foundation administers and sponsors a variety of military scholarship programs for children, a grant program for volunteer organizations, and “Hero Miles” partnerships with major airlines that reunite wounded servicemen and women with their families.
